"It's hard, I know, but picture yourself as a dissatisfied voter". We live in a society where we have too much democracy for our own good that we even choose not to vote, but when things turns bad we want to go and barricade the streets in the name of exercising our rights fighting against the government, we  also have a  gut to compare parties saying ANC is not better than the EFF or DA, the reality is we wont live to see the change we want in our society until we decide to go to the polls to vote for the parties that we think they can bring the change our society need.



Image result for why i wont vote in south africa While apathy has long been thought to be the cause of low voter turnout among young South Africans, new research by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) reveals the real reason why many will not be at the polls next year– 2019.
Titled “Do you want my vote? Understanding the factors that influence voting among young South Africans‚” the study found that ‘apathy’ is actually disillusionment with the current political landscape.
The study provides a detailed picture of youth perceptions of politics and the factors that influence whether they participate in elections or not.
Voter registration among young people is the lowest of all age demographics in South Africa. In the 2014 national elections, registration levels for 18 and 19 year old was just 33% – well below the 73% average.

With the elections upon us, it seems to be common cause that one ought to vote, and one ought not to complain if one doesn't vote. This is not true. Every non-vote reflects a political battle half-won.Either vote for someone else, like the ANC, which distinguishes itself from the DA by not delivering on its promises and promising way too much government in the first place. these are some of the thinks that we have to deal with not leave them on the hands of the government.many people especially students claim that they will only vote if the is a new convenient way of voting or registering like using the online platform to vote or register.
